While I was enjoying the animated graphics of food in Cafe World, I was drawn to this particular dish:
It takes 30 minutes to "cook" that 37 dishes of Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail. This is one of the most beautifully animated food in the game yet with lesser value compared to other servings. The arrangement of shrimps sometimes dupe me. There are times when I choose beauty over the value of the shrimps and eventually obtain less profitability. How sad.
Then, I have to start cooking again. The colour of Crackling Peking Duck, in contrast to the colour of Shrimp Cocktail, is quite dull. However, the 18 hours of cooking Crackling Peking Duck is much more worth than cooking half an hour Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail. At least you got 3600 compared to 148 coins.
I'm sorry for using Cafe World as a metaphor. I hope you'll be able to read between the lines:)
November is the month of weddings. Last week, a fellow blogger by the name of Hanis Razak got married. I felt so guilty because of my incapability of attending the wedding. So, from the bottom of my heart, I just want to say Congratulations Hanis and partner:)
Yes. This fellow blogger was also my junior in UNITEN. Grrrrr...I'm getting old kan?
While contemplating what was similar to the Shrimp Cocktail, I browsed other shrimp pictures and found the answer. It was UDANG PANJAT - the ever so famous wedding dish!
I checked several wedding pictures and found udang panjat too. Do you realise how long this UDANG PANJAT has been a tradition for the celebrated couple's food? I mean, serving shrimp is fine. But serving shrimp in the same style ever since I was borned until today? For me it's AMAZING!
I wonder how long this tradition will continue. Perhaps until Sha gets married? I hope so. I want to know the significance of having udang panjat during wedding too. What is the impact of udang panjat to the bride and the groom?
Sha: Abang...abang...nak lauk tu?
Jack: Yang mana?
Sha: Udang tu?
Jack: Shrimp cocktail ke sayang?
Sha: Tak...tak...nak udang dalam daun salad tu!
Jack: Ooo. Habis abang nak makan apa sayang?
Sha: Kenapa pulak?
Jack: Ayam golek, ikan bawal, udang...semua lauk pengantin Sha makan. Taulah tembam!
Sha: Ooohh...ye ke? Sorilah abang!
Jack: Takpe sayang. Abang kan American. Mana tahan pedas.
Sha: Takpe, lepas ni Sha masak pedas-pedas untuk abang. Belajar makan pedas ye macam orang Negeri ye?
Jack: Anything for you, sweetheart...
Jack took the skewered shrimp attached to the pineapple. He looked so handsome in his purple baju melayu and tanjak. I opened my mouth while he fed me the shrimp. The world was finally mine!
"Kakak, dah kupas kulit udang?!" ibu called me.
Ooopsss..sorry! I was carried away with my daydream. If only I can eat my udang panjat with Jack Bass - I'll panjat him afterwards...hehe.
Sha is getting naughtier each day;P
So, tell me:
If you're married, did you have UDANG PANJAT during your wedding?
If you're single, have you seen UDANG PANJAT lately? When are you getting your own UDANG PANJAT? Care to share?:P
* Thanks for replying my posting about pucuk tetek yesterday. I'm very happy!
